Israeli politicians and analysts have criticized Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert for comments he made which implied that Israel possessed nuclear weapons.

Iran openly threatens to wipe Israel off the map, Olmert said in an interview with the German television channel SAT1. He then continued: “Can you say that this is the same level, when they are aspiring to have nuclear weapons, as America, France, Israel, Russia?”
